A massive thanks goes to Shaun Simpson from Whalsay who has released a new CD “Oldies but Goldies” which is being sold for #ShetlandMRI.

Fixing cars and putting them through their MOTs are all in a day’s work for the team at Shetland MOT and Repair (SMR), but now they are also using their mechanical skills to raise money for the MRI Scanner Appeal.

A surge in local donations has pushed the MRI Scanner Appeal past the quarter-way mark with the fund now at £418,808.

The families who own the seven Whalsay based pelagic midwater trawlers – Adenia, Antarctic II, Antares, Charisma, Research, Serene and Zephyr – have come together to donate £100,000 to the appeal.

Marshall Wishart has a unique combination of experience. He’s a racing driver who builds his own cars and an aircraft pilot. This led him to create an exciting way to raise funds for Shetland MRI Scanner Appeal that involves local businesses.
