The staff at Cooke Aquaculture couldn’t have foreseen how substantial their Christmas donation to the MRI Scanner would eventually become when they started selling raffle tickets for a draw at their Christmas party.
For the Shetland Islands Council staff working in the “White House” (8 North Ness) a Christmas buffet and raffle was a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other and raise money for the MRI Scanner.

Fixing cars and putting them through their MOTs are all in a day’s work for the team at Shetland MOT and Repair (SMR), but now they are also using their mechanical skills to raise money for the MRI Scanner Appeal.
The families who own the seven Whalsay based pelagic midwater trawlers – Adenia, Antarctic II, Antares, Charisma, Research, Serene and Zephyr – have come together to donate £100,000 to the appeal.
