As part of a general tidy up on Fair Isle Bob Worrall coordinated volunteers Fiona Mitchell, Rachel Challoner, Johnnie Downie and Thomas Fisher and collected old car and inverter batteries, which were then sold for scrap. The batteries generated £215.

The staff at Cooke Aquaculture couldn’t have foreseen how substantial their Christmas donation to the MRI Scanner would eventually become when they started selling raffle tickets for a draw at their Christmas party.

Doull Family Fundraising

It has truly been a fundraising family affair for the Doulls from Sullom. Six-year-old Chloe suffers from Klippel Feil Syndrome (KFS) – a rare congenital , musculoskeletal condition. For one so young, she has already been to Aberdeen and Edinburgh for two MRI scans, in addition to a CT scan in Lerwick. As a result, the family is acutely aware of the potential benefits of having an MRI scanner located in Shetland.
